| BioZone is a biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets drug-delivery systems, which enhance the performance for, and can limit the side effects of, drugs. BioZone was just granted a U.S. patent for a new liposomal delivery system, which BioZone believes will revolutionize liposome and micro-encapsulation delivery. This new system called QuSomes™ was developed to encapsulate a variety of drugs, proteins and peptides at a fraction of the cost of conventional liposomes. There are several commercially successful drugs that have been formulated with liposomes and have proven to be more effective in treating diseases with fewer side effects than traditional drug formulations.
On the contract-manufacturing side of the business, BioZone is a branded and private-label contract manufacturer, which can be separated into two (2) areas - by the type of formulation and method of application:
- Topical compositions, which resemble traditional creams, lotions, and ointments in appearance.
- Liquid compositions that can be absorbed sublingually, nasal spray products, or liquid ingestion products.
